The price resulting from fundamental analysis of the company and, therefore, what the stock of that company should be worth if the premises used in the analysis are fulfilled. If the target price is above the current market price, it implies that there is potential for appreciation and probably the analyst’s recommendation will be to buy the stock as they consider it undervalued. The opposite will occur if the target price is much lower than the current market price.
